I was in a friend's junk room and saw a power supply with dc inputs and an ATX output so I grabbed it. Looking closer at the Power supply it has an input of -48V/10A, the model # is a BPS-250DS switching power supply. I did some searching it seems it may have come out of a telecommunications box. Also searched for converters couldn't really find any the went from 12 to 48.

DC input: -48V/10A
DC output: 250W max

1. Can 12v be converted to -48v easily?
2. Is there another way to input the proper voltage?
3. Should I put it aside and one day order an opus?

Thanks
