    ATX/Power shutdown controller

I paypal Mastero for a SDC but got refunded so I digging thru the forum and found this schema for SDC http://home.comcast.net/~danielsoh/img/atxshutdown.gif originally design by some member of this forum. I try to recreate the circuit and run thru the simulation to see how it work before building one but the result of the simulation is not what I expected. I am not sure what is wrong, and I am not an EE guy.
Notes that I change the Trimpot from the image above to regular resistor and base on R*C = Time(second) to estimate the time.
I think/expect this is how the circuit works.
    - ACC/Control line ON -> and after a few second -> Switch ON Inverter/PSU.
    - ACC/Control line OFF -> Rundown time (some minutes) -> Press/Simulate ATX PWR switch to turn off computer -> Rundown Time (Some minutes) -> Switch off/Cut power to Inverter/PSU.
    - Kill Switch -> cut power to Inverter/PSU.

    Attachment in order.
1st image: before the simulation run.
2nd image: 8.5 Seconds into the run (the chema app cpu power is ~100% NOT system CPU). I switch ON the ACC/Control line.
3rd image: 45 second into the run (~35 sec after ACC ON) the Inverter/PSU line is switch ON. This is as expected but too long. I may change R3 value to make it shotter.
4th image: After 20 min into the run, I switch OFF the ACC Control line. NOTHING is happen after that. No ATX PWR switch press and power to PSU/Inverter is NOT cut off (I understand that there are rundown time control by C1 VR1 and C3 VR3). I wait for 10 min (~2min is my setting) after ACC OFF to see if the ATX PWR signal is generate but NONE. Another 10 min (~2min is my setting) for cut OFF power but NONE.

Can someone show me what is wrong?

You can also buy these directly from Jeff, the man who came up with this circuit: http://home.comcast.net/~zootjeff/shutdown/

I may want to get one later but for now I really want to know what I did wrong with the circuit. It really bug me why I can't get it to work.

I am confused. Why is it so difficult to make a shutdown controler?

Cant you just throw together a parallel port plug with a resistor or voltage regulator to sense when the car is off. They just have a peice of software poll the pin every second?

Now that sounds like a difficult way to do an easy thing.

    Angry

I know this circuit is working cuz people are using it.
As of my current setup, I don't really need this shutdown controller, but it's nice to have one because I have to hit the PWR button to shutdown the computer. The Alarm Remote Start/Turbo Timer will taking care of quickstop and shutting down the Inverter/PSU. The mobo "Resume on power lose" taking care of the booting.
Don't you hate it when something is not working for you but others?
