inverter or DC PC Power supply?

I want to power my old computer for use on my car. Which should I use a inverter or a DC PC power supply?

Does anybody have >70 watts DC PC power supply schematic?

There are good and bad for either one.
    DC-DC, cost more and efficiency.
Inverter, cheaper, less efficiency and probably create electrical noise.
if you have money, go DC-DC

I second (third?) the motion. Don't be ghetto, just get an opus, your computer will love you for it...after you've run with autostart and autoshutdown for a day or two you'll wonder how you lived without it.

I have an invertor and an opus. Invertor is for my DVD player, opus is for my computer, and I'd never dream of mixing the two.

I have a DC-AC 300W inverter. When I switch it on, it suck up atleast 3 to 5 volts, then when my computer boots, it sucks up again the same volts. This is the reason why my computer suddenly either restart or shutdown completely. It's a power hungry little monster and not to mention the noise. In the early days of mp3car (now carputer) I don't have much choice, but nowadays DC to DC are getting better n/ better everyday so it's time for me to upgrade.
