Weird dude!
With some better pics and a better schematic someone should be able to help you out.
Good luck!

Hey guys, I need a quick hand with wiring my shutdown cntroller by Jeff Mucha. I have a dell atx mobo, which has slightly different power button connector to the mobo, though i think i figured it out. i took some pics: Gallery:http://web.tampabay.rr.com/sweetrobo.../carputer.html

Look right in the center of the picture, there isa square formation, under whihch it says PWR, and to the left is the same, but says RESET- note the four solder points.

this is the circuit board to which the pwr and reset buttons are attached- the square formation formed by the four soldering points os what attaches the power button- this board is attached to the mobo via the cable partially visible leading at the bottom of the board in my hand.
there is no jumper on the mobo for the powerdown button, just a smaller ide cable attached to the mobo, coming from a circuit board that the power button is connected to. it was easy to follow the circuits coming from the board to the mobo, where the PWR and RESET solderings are clearly labeled, except that there are four possible places where i can wire the controller to, but the controller itself only has two wires/terminals. anyone else face this issue, or have any suggestions?
help appreciated, thanks.

Ya know what I would do?Originally Posted by sweetrobot2k
How much slack is in that ribbon cable?
I would scoot the connector back an inch on the cable and expose some wire leads.
With a multimeter, find the two wires that connect when you hit Reset (I am pretty sure you don't care about the power switch).
Solder a simple connector onto those two wires.
Then connect a mate from that connector to the shutdown circuit.

I am kinda sure, nbut to clear up- do you mean i don't care about the pwr button? isn't that where i am supposed to hook it up to- it says soin the instructions, and there are four leads for pwr and reset(4 each) as depicted- i know the photo is ***Originally Posted by paulpv
