    Opus Install Question

hey what's up, i hooked up the opus to my computer in the car and it works fine when i turn it to the acc position but when i start the car the screen goes blank, i think it is restarting the computer when i start it. Did I wire this incorrectly? Thank You

Be sure the main power wire is attached either directly to the battery, or the less desirable spot, a spot on the fuse box that doesn't disconnect when you crank the engine...

so when you crank the engine, the psu gets the power from the constant 12V (the yellow wire)?

In reality the computer will always have power because the red power wire will connect to your battery and your battery is always on. The yellow is just a signal to tell the computer to turn on or standby/ hibernate what ever you choose in the settings.

Look here. Thats the 90watt opus. The connector on the bottom is where you connect up the battery. Like inniss said, the red goes to positive, black to ground. The yellow is NOT however the remote. That is the wire that hooks up to the ignition wire so it turns on with the rest of the car. The top connector (not available on the non-remote trigger versions) is the remote trigger 'port'. It comes with another smaller wire harness with 3 wires. Two of them are useless, one is the remote trigger wire, which you would hook directly up to the remote trigger input on the amp. I have this set up right now in my car and it works flawlessly.

hope that helps, there was a lot of confusion back when it was released as to which wire was the remote trigger, becuase some of the wireharnesses were not included.

The yellow wire could be wired to the ignition or it could be wired to the remote wire from your radio so that when ever you turn on your radio the computer turns on.
