Power to the inverter will normally be off the controller board. This the brightness controls to be operated by OSD/buttons etc on the controller board.
hi all i have all my bits finally!!! well i almost regret not waiting until the lilliputs came down but heh......
I have a:
LCD Display?.Model No. NL6448AC33-29?.10.4?
Inverter board also included?.Model No. S-11251B
But i am unsure of how to power the inverter....i have read the lcd pdf but it reveals no clues. Does anyone else have these items and have them running?
I was hoping i could take power from the pc and run the inverter and thus the screen off it. But without a clue of the voltages its a nightmare....
Any help appreciated.
cheers

From having seen alot of laptops inverter theres normally 2 connectors on the inverter board. Usually theres the HV and the controls connector, the HV goes directly to the screen backlight.
Some uses 5 or 6 wires. 2 of the wires is obviously the supply voltage. If you are really stuck, try to read off the part number of the chip (IC1) then try to get the datasheet. If you can atleast find out which pin are the supply voltage for this chip and then trace back to the 5 wires then you are atleast 2 wires down
You can easily find out which is the ground by tracing a big grounded copper on the PCB back to the 5 wires, normally the mounting hole are earthed, so you can be sure where your earth is.
Apply the voltage required to this chip as stated on the datasheet. The rest of the wires you just have to guess what they do.
Thats all I can help you...good luck
Or did you already knew which is the supply voltage for the inverter but dont know how much to apply?![]()
I bought a controller board from mileselec....and a Hirose cable for the screen, i am assured it will work with my screen but i see no way of powering the inverter from the controller. The cable that pretrudes from the inverter goes into the screen, on the other side there is another sockert so perhaps i need another cable? to plug into my controller?Originally Posted by Skraggy_uk

I havent been able to find a data sheet for the inverter at all.....the pdf for the lcd does mention an inverter, and i assume its the one that came with the screen but it make no mention of its part No.!!!Originally Posted by Ricky327

It does use Vddb as a reference to the supply voltage and later on its says vddb = 12v but i have no idea of ampage or where to get the power from!!
I think this is the same controller.Originally Posted by Blop
And it shows a setup for the inverter.

mmm it looks like it plugs in at the top.....im sure i had a good look and decided that inverter plug wasnt going to fit anywhere. ill give it a through going over tonight when i get back.Originally Posted by Skraggy_uk
Cheers for your help skraggy.......
You might need to hack about a cable with a Maplin connector to fit the panel.Originally Posted by Blop
As long as the panel's back light voltage, and the inverters requirements are the same (i.e. 3.3v, 5v, 12v etc) and you get the polarity right, you should be able to knock something together.

ok ill have a look. Wont the ampage matter?
ISTR that most panels have an input requirement of of only a couple of AMPS. Should be marked in the PDF somewhere, and on the inverter board.
