Most of those adapters will not give you the right kind of current you need...which is about 4-5A!

Most would be .5 to 1A

    Be careful, and good luck

Damn.. Ah well, guess I'll just see what I can get my hands on.. I was thinking of building a new case for my project this weekend, would be nice running on 12V instead of 230..

Be careful, most desktop hard drives will need the 12V. If you use a notebook hard drive then you might be okay.

Btw, that PSU sure does look like a morex

    Burnout,

Here's what you're looking for. It's the Radio Shack Laptop Adapter

    Edit...sorry...fixed the link.

This weekend, I built a new case for my carputer.. I just built in everything, including the stripped inverter.. With the "Running from 12V"-idea, i was only looking to get rid of inverter and it's fan noise.. Well, atleast fan noise is removed.. :-)

At least, this solution will work until I get my hands on a laptop adapter, and build a 1 / 1.5 din unit..

    Burnout,

Good progress! Keep us posted. Also, double check your power requirements to make sure the RS adapter will hack it.
