New OPUS 150w not working?
Hello! I just got my OPUS in and it doesn't seem to work correctly... Let me know if it's just me! Okay, I've got a constant batt+ and ground to the OPUS. When the ignition line gets power the computer powers up, LED indicates everything works (no flashing). When power is removed from the ignition lead only, the computer shuts off immediately (without going through a delay or shutting down "safely"). When the unit is off the LED doesn't flash as the instructions say it should in standby/off mode (yes it’s still getting a batt+ and ground). I've changed the delay jumpers & reversed the polarity of the soft on/off switch lead between the OPUS and the motherboard--no changes occurred in the way it operated. What's odd is that when I remove the main positive lead while the computer is on, the computer doesn't shut off--it just seems to draw through the ignition lead only. Did I just happen to get a bad OPUS? Anyone experience ANYTHING like this before? I emailed Kris early this morning at OPUS and am waiting to hear back.

You probably have the wires reversed. Maybe the const+ is on the ign lead and the ign wire is on the const+ lead. Think about it, when the ignition is on, you will have power going through both wires so it will work fine. When you shut the ignition off (which is connected to const+) power is cut off shutting off the power supply
Yah, I figured the same thing. I even swapped them to test the theory when I was trouble shooting; thinking maybe the unit was built with them accidentaly swapped... nopeOriginally Posted by Crav4Speed

where are you pulling your const+ from?
It comes from a direct lead off of the battery with a fuse at the battery for 15amps.
