    maestro mk3.5

hi, i did a little bit of research today and it looks like i could make the maestro mk3.5 kits or assembled units just as maestro does. unless maestro wouldn't want me to be doing this (since the design is his), i could provide these kits for sale in the US. I have the ability to etch and drill PCB's, so i could offer pretty much the same type of kits maestro does. however because maxim likes being gay and doesn't make the max787 and 788 easily available in the US, these kits will be using the lt1074's in place of those two regulators. I can also make up kits for older power supply designs if the info is still available on the web someplace. i currently have info for a sproggy mk2.8 i think it is...i'm not positive. i built one of those last year and it worked great, but dealing w/ coilcraft is more trouble than its worth. also, all the PCB's that would me made will have maestro's name on them as the pcb drawings do. there will not be anything giving me credit for anything in these kits. by the looks of things i can do a fully assembled mk3.5 for $120 (not including shipping, atx case, or fan...atx wires and heatsinks are included), unassembled kits (including the same mentioned for the previous kit) i can make up for $90 (again w/o shipping), a semi complete, unassembled kit (no lt1074's, lt0184's, lm2587's, or heatsinks) for probably around $60. none of these prices are final as i am looking to see if there are enough people interested in this. the more people that are interested, the better i can do on the prices. the prices i have listed would reflect 1-25 people being interested in these. i have not made any of these supplies yet, however if there is interest, i will make one for myself and test it to make sure the thing will work the way i will be making it. if it does, then i can take orders. let me know what you think, especially you maestro...i'm not looking to mess things up for you and what you have.

geez, it was a simple question as to whether or not there would be a problem w/ me doing this. so obviously u don't want me doin it. fine, i could care less. the only reason i put that out there was to provide an easier way for people in the US 2 get these kits. i mean cmon, overseas shipping prices are ridiculous. also, since "your" design isn't copywrited, and the pcb and parts list is online, i figured it wouldn't be a problem to offer to make the things for people. but whatever, i said i wouldn't do this if it was messin things up for you, so i won't be doin this then. plain and simple.

It is intellectualy property, and it is copyrighted automatically. Without any paperwork. Just like a poem has a copyright by signing your name at the bottom. That's the law in the United States anyway.
