Soltronix DuraWatt DS-70W - anyone tried this?

    Hey,

Sorry if this has already been covered i read through the threads until about page 15...

I couldn't find any posts about this particular unit, has anyone had success with it? From what i can tell its a reasonable price.

Here is a link to the site: http://www.soltronixstore.com/Detail.bok?no=5

I originally discovered the product on http://mpegbox.net and it has more information regarding the specs of the unit.

According to the specs, it doesn't have shutdown controller features.

It seams to be a very good power suplie, if you use only 70w.Is it compatible with epiaM1000?
Here in Portugal we have great weather, lots of brunnets, party a lot, drink a lot....

Wrong. Never heard of an Opus or Sproggy?

Thank you! It's nice to hear some appreciation, with all the disagreements I have around here when I'm just trying to help, I sometimes wonder why I do it.

Funny you should post that here, since I almost added Arise and Keypower to the list in my last post. Be sure you let us know how it works out for you. How much did it cost?

It was absurdly cheap compared to the Opus - i paid $79 direct from arise, but i ahd to pay tax since the company is based in my hometown Even if you buy Jeff's shutodwn controller for $30 you still come in $30-40 below the 90 watt opus and 10 watts above it.....

but....while researching the arise i PM'd someone who i found had wiring questions when hooking his up to see if he liked it. It turns out he had upgraded his setup and was looking to sell it but i had just finalized the order that morning before i heard from him! So I assume it could have been had for less.

The only issue i anticipate is that it takes "10 - 30 VDC"....im not sure if a new car in good condition will fall below 10 V during crank - if it will i may have to work around crank faliure.
