Building a system and need a ps. any help?

i am posting this hoping i dont get flamed for being a newb on the subject cause i know how harsh ppl on forums can be, but with that said...

im building a pc with these specs

    Processor: 1Ghz C3
    Motherboard: Nehemiah M10000
    RAM: 256MB PC2100 DDR DIMM
    Graphics Card: VIA Apollo CLE266
    Hard Drive: 30 gig
    DVDROM: ??
    Case: C134
    Software: Windows XP Home Edition

i know the motherboard requires a power suply to be from 110-240v. i dont know anything about the opus or for that matter anything on the subject of power supplys. i just know i need to wire something to my battery, and hook it up to my motherboard. what should i be looking for in the simplest explination? Thx for the help

    120w should be enough
    opus is 150w - regulated
good to have extra, also has a shutdown controller
    i organized a group buy
Closed - Possible Opus Group Buy

    ends couple of days

i just saw that in the store, would that be good to use if i wanted to manually turn on an off the comp? Also, if this does just wire to the car and hookup to the motherboard? WIll it work with the motherboard i showed? Is it possable to get a shutdown controller and add it on? Thanks

edit: if this power supply doesnt work, is there a different mother board that i can buy that will. I know the opus is the best, but im on a budget

It works like a normal PSU, so yes, it will work with your motherboard. The only difference is it hooks into your car instead of an AC outlet.

will it provide enough volts to the motherboard. the specs say its 100 and the motherboard says it runs off 110-240. Will that difference matter? If it does matter, is there a different ps i can use? what about the shutdown controller, will it work with that as well and whats the difference between this ps with the shutdown controller and the opus?, thanks

    short answer: yes
    long answer:
what eCar is saying is that you keep writing that it runs off 110-240, those are AC voltages and the motherboard dosn't actually run off an AC voltage, you need a powersupply that connects to 110vac or 240vac most of which will do both. The Opus is a power supply that conforms to the current power standard of personal computers and will power your motherboard.

The question you really wanted to ask was not whether it would provide enough volts, but enough watts, and yes it'll provied enough watts.
The shutdown controller connects to the pins on your motherboard that are generally controlled by a button, generally the button on the front of your computer. What is does is pretend to press that button when you turn your car on and off, essentially turning your computer on and off with the car.

I would suggest you go take a look at www.howstuffworks.com and look into computers a little bit more before you get too deep into this project. I don't want to sound rude but these are questions you shouldn't have to be asking.

Yes, it should be enough. Many people (including myself) power M10000N off of the 55W Morex PSUs without any problems. People have reported that a PCI card and a full size cd/dvd usually lead to problems so since you will have 100W it will be more than fine.
