    DC-DC in the UK

Hi, i'm looking to get the opus 150w DC-DC invertor from here, im pretty new to this stuff and im wondering do i need an ITPS as well? If so anyone know of a supplier in the UK?

I plan on running an combo sound/video/lan/audio mobo with a Duron 1.6Ghz CPU, 1/2GB of ram and a 120GB ATA HD. Through USB it will power a WinTX freeview box, GPS Mouse and this keyboard. everything else will be powered from other sources... (ext dvd/cd-rw in glove box).

Any advice on powering or any other aspect of this idea other than the need for ITPS?

Thanks for the help in advance

    Regards

If you are getting the Opus from LinITX (good choice - my boss just ordered one on Tuesday!) then nope, you won't need an ITPS. The Opus is a standalone regulated DC-DC power supply (it's NOT an inverter!), startup/shutdown controller in one

Is "1/2GB of ram" half or 1 or 2? I doubt you'll need any more than 512mb!

All the other bits look OK! All you need now is a good screen, in my opinion, don't get anything other than VGA screen, and get touchscreen if you want (in my opinion it's awesome)

If you buy an Opus , then you are halfway to build your carputer...
I agree with Confused 512mb of ram is more than enough for a carpc aplication...
Here in Portugal we have great weather, lots of brunnets, party a lot, drink a lot....
