how much power do i need from an inverter? will 300w do? or is that too much/little?
Depends on your carputer power supply. A 300W inverter does not give you 300W if you read the back of the box its surge capacity is 300W and it will give you a continous flow of power less than that, I think 80% of that. If you are using an OPUS 150W PS you need at least 175W inverter. I have a thinkpad wired it has a 60W PS I have a 75W inverter.
Why would an opus need an inverter insight?
anyway he's right get something with a continous flow of power at or more then what your psu puts out. Its always better to go little bigger.

i run a 175watt inverter that surges to 300watt, with a 250 watt powersupply. no problem
