500 hours????![]()
Does anyone have any idea on how long you could run a p3 system with 7" lcd using an Opus power supply connected to a 12V Car battery? Anyone tested this? I'm attempting a project at work is why i'm asking this. Cart-PC! for the warehouse. Would like to stay around 500.
assuming a 100Watt draw average:
Optima yellow top: 65Ah
100watts at 12v = 8.3amps
= 7.83 hours.
You would need 64 decent 12V batts to hold it for 500 hours !
If you ran an epia with not much else you might get away with 15-20hours

The OPUS has a low battery cut off at 10.9 volts. Many factors go into the formula in determining now long it will take your specific battery to reach that point. Factors include: battery age, temperature, battery reserve capacity (size), load, other accessories, etc. However a good rule of thumb is about 1-2 hours. You won’t want to do this very often with a starting battery because they are designed for starting, not for discharge cycles like this.
Is there a online store in Europe where i can buy optimas bateries, i cant find them in Portugal....
Here in Portugal we have great weather, lots of brunnets, party a lot, drink a lot....

I would like to get somewhere around 5-6 HOURS of use daily. Any suggestions.
Thanks for the responses!
What type of cart are you refering to? A shopping cart??? a fork lift cart? I reckon you need a BIG battery to do this...$500?!? Is this including the battery??? Screen alone took half of your 500 budget.Originally Posted by NorthGaVigor
Simple metal cart used in our warehouse for holding items.
yes you could probably get away with this - 2 car sized batts should manage that comfortably, can you handle that sort of weight however?
