    150w Opus from mp3car.com

    My Account:

    Previous Orders
    04/10/2004 Backordered $210.24

Anyone else in this incredible frustrating postion?
This is more my vent than anything else, but i would like to know if anyone knows the current status of the order.

I bought the product april 10th saying it would be shipped on the 14th, then they skipped that up to the 21st, then the 28, and now it says:

Out of stock until mid/late May.

A full month and more to wait for my powersupply....

I don't think mp3car is to blame for this. I think Opus has been pushing back the date they said they would be ready.

archimense is right. If you have been following BoraXP's group buy, you will see that opus has pushed the delivery date back numerous times. Unfortunately it seems, all you can do is wait.

Have run into a few problems at home so it has been shelved at the moment.

but to give you some info it is based on a SG3525 PWM chip, custom wound transformer with a linear regulator on the output for each of the voltages. Shutdown controller is based on a pic chip. If you want some more info, I will have to dig it up. It might take me a while. I still have to send Ricky327 info on the SDC as well. (Sorry Ricky)

I understand your frustration. The 150 watt model has been pledged with assembly problems (they are literally made by hand) and my vendor OPUS Solutions has repeatedly pushed back estimated dates of shipment by weeks at a time.

When I visited OPUS Solutions in early March he was just getting components in to build the 150 watts in his shop. Some of the components used in the assembly have 12 week lead times and OPUS failed to order enough in advance. That’s was the start of the problems. In early April all of the parts arrived and they were sent to the assembler. At this point I am told that I will get my order of 150 watts in mid April. Because I’ve dealt with OPUS before I know they are prone to delays so added a week to my estimated date (just to be safe) and said I should have them about April 28th. Unfortunately the assembler that OPUS Solutions uses has repeatedly failed to meet its deadlines. Therefore I haven’t been able to get the power supplies like I have been repeatedly told I should’ve had by now. The assembler is the root of the current problem.

Here’s a little diagram of the finger pointing:

    Customer -> Mp3car.com -> OPUS Solutions -> Assembler

I know this doesn’t change anything and you still don’t the power supply you ordered. I’m trying to get them as soon as I can but I’m at the mercy of OPUS. I have been repeatedly been told wrong information and therefore I have I have repeatedly told everyone else wrong information as well. I make a daily calls to OPUS Solutions for an update on my order and I hope to fulfill your order for the 150 watt model as soon as possible.

In other news the 90-watt model is assembled by a different company and who has a better reputation for holding to promised dates and they are expected to arrive on time.

alas blame has found it's proper place...
    damn assembler.

    but seriously,
    thanks for the update,
If anything, this ordeal has made me respect mp3car over anyone.
and thanks for your constant efforts ziplock.

    Until then,
My DINS will just have to feel a little empty inside.
