    Question random turn off

    allright i have had the carputer installed recently, by my self, and i jsut got my opus, and right now it is not mounted, i just have the carputer which is a c134 and the opus sitting in a box, the case is off the c134, and the opus was touching the case, just the outside if the casing of the opus, and i was playing the music, and 10 minutes later, i heard like 3 or 4 not too loud pops. i checked the computer, the fans were off, but the power light was on, and when the carputer is on standby, it blinks very fast, but this was a solid light, i think maybe the opus casing might have caused a short between the computer and the psu, and shut off, but why was the power light still on, also the only way to restart the computer was the unplug power from the opus, and wait 2 minutes, and plug power back in, now i have a thin piece of card board in between the opus and the case, and i went on a 20 min drive and had no problem, do you think it is becasue it was shorted by the cae or what,

    thanks

    i think i might have figured out the problem, i spliced in to the power wire of the motherboard, that comes out of the atx plug for the c134, and when i ran my lilliput cable, then popping sound i kept on hearing was, only when someonesat in the passenger seat, and then i figured out, the cable was grounding it self, since the seat bracket ws on top of the cable, and it pinched it, and when i put preassure on the seat it would cause the opus to turn off since there was a short, so i am gonna see what happens and most likely i will move the opus and computer to the front under the passenger seat from the trunk, worried about heat.

    yeah, i am going to do that this weekend, since i don't feel safe, with that wiring getting pinched by the seat, hehe, also i don't think the trunk is the best place for the computer, so i am going to take out the duct for the ac under the seat, and mount my computer under there, so it clears the seat, so if i have a fatass sit in the passenger seat it won't put pressure on the carputer,

    faiz;

    How about relocating the opus? From my understanding, the opus is crammed vertically. If we think of it in 3D, reduce the Z axis and extend the X and Y. Meaning put the opus next to the CPU instead of above/under it.

    Thats if I'm understanding the picture correctly.

    weel, right now, i have disconnected the usb and sound car pors on the front of the case, and run an extension atx cable through the front, and the opus is on the side of the case.
