you don't need DPDT, just a simple SPST.

I also tried a capacitor for shutdown (a big 200v wouldn't even start up the inverter, and a small 50v, delayed about 2 seconds).

any help with the cap would be greatly appreciated!

Clemen- that looks like a SPST, so it should work.

I’ve been lurking for the pass few weeks trying to get some Carputer ideas. I’m also interested in trying out this shutdown method. How about using a Timer Delay/Relay instead of a capacitor? Would something like this work: http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/7279.pdf

Terran- I saw that too, but that would probably be expensive. I know there are ways to add a delay (i just have no idea how).

i got this, except 1amp instead of 1/2 amp:

Note that I went to the switch of my inverter, not to the always live +12v, so i wouldn't have to run power through my relay.

Ok, I fixed a couple of bugs, so I put this up, if someone is interested.

The next step is to get the shutdown menu a little nicer maybe someone can make me one, perhaps in brushed metal style cause I´m using it right now.

One thought: what if you made it so 4-8 only had to be closed by a momentary switch, and you made a softwhere shutdown timer? What language did you write it in? If you post the source code, I would give it a shot.
