i installed the latest non-Beta Lilliput driver and the PC went into Hibernate mode just fine.

Grayscale - Yes, Hibernate mode is essentially the same as powering off the PC but there will always be some amperage draw from the mobo, mine just happens to hog up a ton of juice. =\

and then how can you get the opus to send your carputer into hibernate whenever it shuts off.
although I don't have an Opus yet, I believe you go into your Display Properties->Screen Saver->Power->Hibernate->Enable.

Then choose When I press the Power Button do the following: Hibernate.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Alright. Make sure you try to do it in standby S3, not S1. Also, does anyone know where I can get the beta drivers? Hifiguy what version are your drivers? Could you send a link?

So I put my PC on standby in the middle of playing an mp3 and found the following:

    Watts consumed: 35
    CPU remains on
    Wifi pci remains on
    USB 2.0 hub remains on
    Mouse LED remains on

Coming back from standby took under 1 second (freshly formatted machine) and music continued to play even before Lilliput came on!

If it wasn't for the 35W drain I'd definitely used Standby over Hibernate.

35W/12V=2.91 Amps? Geez...maybe you could try to set the BIOS so that nothing wakes up standby except power button...then maybe it wont power the USB devices and stuff. I think I could keep my computer on standby over night though.

Now did you do this in S1 or S3 standby? How did you measure how much current was being drawn? Or watts...

2 amps is hella lot I draw 1.5 watts when the computer is in S3 standby (suspend to ram) and 1 watt when the computer is completely shutdown / hibernate which is like .083 to .125 amps.

Whoah! my mistake...it's 2 Watts instead of amps.

I'm using a device called Watts Up? to measure the Watts/volts/amps used by my AC Enermax 350 PSU.

I'm not sure which S-mode the motherboard was using, I can check the various modes and post results tonight, maybe S1 will draw very little! FYI, Hibernate mode takes me about 6 secs tops to boot.

I'm using driver vers 3.2.1.2925 but here's where the beta drivers are: http://www.egalax.com.tw/Download.htm
