    sealed container?

okso i have a sealed lead acid battery for use in a tank circuit. everything is working fine outside of the car. im about to install the whole system this week.
however on the battery it says not to charge in a sealed container.
will the trunk count as a sealed container? i will be putting the battery in the spare tire well which is covered by a carpeted wooden board.
    thanks!
i dont want my car to blow up or something if i do something wrong.

you need to get a dedicated battery container. when a lead acid battery charges, it generates hydrogen gas. in a normal battery install under the hood/bonnet of the car, this gas vents harmlessly to the atmosphere, but in the trunk/boot, it stays in the cabin of the car, where it's dangerous. get a sealed box that vents to the outside of the car. they make boxes specifically for this.

What about sealed lead acid battery's? Do they still disperse the gas?

yup. search on car stereo forums for battery boxes - they all have vent hoses to the outside of the car for safety.
