    pleeeeeeeease i need help for dc-dc converter

    i have a non epia mobo. it needs 12v input, it hasn't an ATX connector, but just the 12v input (it has a 12v to 5v to 3,3v converter builted inside).

    the problem are:

    1) it needs 4,5A (DVD+HD+Keyb+Mouse), it needs more if i use other peripherals like FD or USB. on user's manual reccommend 7~10A
    but naturally for now i don't need other peripherals so 4,5A would be fine, having an ITPS 8-9A would be great.

    2) i tried ITPS theese are the results:
    engine on: 14,4V --> ITPS 11,85V --> all ok
    engine on, light on, 2 phone, car stereo: 13,1V --> ITPS 11,75V --> all ok
    engine on, Air Conditioned on: 12,8V --> carputer off
    engine off: 12,01V --> carputer off

    what i have to do?

    It sounds like the ITPS is barbecued. It refuses to operate at 12.8v or less
    Carputer currently 'ghettoed' into car!!!

    The ITPS needs at least 13.3V in to provide 12V out. This means you need the engine running, and by the looks of it, no peripherals in the car on, which is obviously not what you want.

    Take a look at the Carnetix CNX-P1260, it does what the ITPS is currently doing, only better (ie it will actually work in all those situations you listed above)

    Where are you getting your power to the itps from? If you are feeding off the accessories lines then perhaps that might be the problem. You might want to try running it straight from the battery with about a 10 or 8 gauge. It may just work...or it may not. Just a thought.

    PS. Hey mastero, how do you like india? Where abouts are you?
