    Opus won't start up PC

    I have a 150W opus powering a micro-ATX mobo, 3.5" HDD & DVD-ROM.

When plugged in (wired correctly) the opus leds blink with the 0.1s on 2.5s off indicating its OK & in standby. I have the green/white wires connected from the starup controller to the power pins on the mobo.

When I start the vehicle the PC doesn't start. If I short the pins myself the PC fires up & runs fine. I've tried reversing the pin connector in case it is polarity, but no change.

    Any ideas?

have you checked to see if that green/white wire is defective?

What I did on mines is plug the green/white wire onto the board and using a linked copper wire and short it on the other end.

From the looks of thing, your motherboard is fine and your opus seems to have power.

I shorted the pins by connecting the opus end of the green/white wires using a staple. I think the wire is OK.

i ahve the exact same problem you are getting. same mobo and the same opus power supply and i can not get it to turn on automatically. i too have to use a push button switch to turn on the motherboard.

I'm pretty sure it is, but that would explain it too. I'll check with my voltmeter when I get home.

Did you buy your Opus recently? If the suggestion above doesn't pan out I suspect there may be a bad batch of startup controllers.

Edit: Hmmm, same motherboard huh? The mobo requires a momentary connection of the power pins to start up. Does the opus put a constant or momentary signal to these pins?

If it is constant, how do I make it momentary so it will start up the mobo correctly?

That seems to be half the problem. I'd blown the accessory fuse, replaced it & yellow wire now has power whe the ignition is on.

However, now I have two flashing blips from the leds. Time to play with that wire again.......otherwise I have a duff DC-DC supply.

Two lights is a problem with the green-white cable right? Make sure you get the right polarity.
