It is at least as much about the car electrical system as the DC to DC PS.
The PC power and cooling PS I use does not survive in the Toyota truck but does in the Suburban, all other components the same....

I don't know if it's any help, but I bought the 250w DC-DC power supply from CarTFT and that survives crank ok!

morex from www.mini-itx.com £50 and carnetix from www.carnetix.com £50 (both including Vat and delivery to uk) and both items could be on your doorstep within 2 weeks and in my opinion its much better than an opus
Our CarTFT DC/DC Rev-B now survives cranking without the need of a backup battery.
