    Need Opus help, I'm stumped.

So I spent the day finishing the install on the computer, and then got to the point of hooking up the opus and I get nothing. Computer works fine on a normal PSU, but all I've got is 350W unit so I don't know if it works on a 150W AC supply. Opus comes on fine, and everything comes on (fans, HD, that sort of thing), but I never get any video output. Lights on the keyboard never flash or come on.

Computer setup is Athlon 1.4Ghz on ASUS mATX board with just 20Gb HD plugged in. Seems like the Opus should be able to handle it, but I'm just not sure. I checked voltages, and everything seems acceptable when the PSU is running. I get a solid green light as well. I'm really stumped here folks, so I figured I'd see if I could get some help overnight, before I start at it again in the morning.

So I got the computer to start, but only with a HD connected. As soon as I plug in a copule of USB devices and stuff I only get half way through startup. Anybody else running an Athlon 1.4? Seems like if people are running P4's and such, an Athlon shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I'd say it's a power draw issue.
You might consider an Athlon-M for the lower power consumption.

I take it you have the Opus 150w?
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

maybe it's installing drivers for your USB devices... Some of them could hang or take forever to install.

I have a 2.8C P4 with full DVD and HD with 2-3 USB devices plug in with no problem....Well, maybe a little problem, but don't know if it's power related. So I can't pinpoint the problem.

You should try plugging 1 device @ a time 1 by 1 in windows. See what happens first, then add another.

BTW, what device are you trying to plug in?

Mines? USB Keyboard, USB Mouse, USB playstation-to-PC adapter, USB Phone cable.

Well, I figured it out. DON"T STARVE YOUR OPUS. I had it on some 14 gauge speaker wire cause it was the closest roll I had to me. Switched in some 8 gauge today and the damn thing booted right up with everything I could throw at it. Tomorrow should be all it takes to finish. Thanks for the help.

I have the exact problem you are describing witht the computer powering up but no video out, have an asus motherboard also with a 1.4 ghz athlon processor, when you finally got yours to start up did it display the boot up screen where it says asus and such? and tests your memory, I can't get any video on mine

First of all you poeple should remember about static electricity! I hope your video problem is caused by a power shortage, not because you zapped it and didnt even notice. 50000V thats the amount you can discharge from your body just touching something when your not grounded. I know there would be alot less issues if people would remember that.
