Im just putting together a carputa using bits and peices i have lying around. The system is a p3 800 384meg ram 1x 40gig hdd 1x 20gig hdd, a UPS is stuck in the bottom of the midi tower case which is good for about 20mins of runtime and works fine off wall power. I thought i better quick how it runs off the UPS so i hooked up a big battery to the inverter and pluged it into the UPS only to find the ups still running on battery power, i opened the software and its showing an input voltage of 250-254v which i assume is the reason why its not switching back to a/c power? Is there anyway to fix this problem, i dont really have the money to buy a dc-dc power supply or another inverter at this time, the inverter runs the computer fine without ups... Im just using the UPS for a graceful shutdown without the hassle of shutdown/power on circuits.
