I know ur tired of it, but noob power ?

    Components:
    Pyramid MV7SC 7.2inch monitor
    EPIA 8000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT)
Slim Case with 138Watt power supply (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT)
    Full-size DVD and Hard drives
    256 PC133 RAM

    Question:
Since the power supply is included in the case, is the ITPS all i need to run this in car? While i love the all inclusiveness of the OPUS, it would cost more than my entire setup. Also, will the ITPS even work with the 8000 motherboard. I was going to purchase a kit on ebay but it made it sound like it was only for the M10000+.
I've got my finger on the buy it now button for a 400 watt inverter because i'm so confused, but hopefully some of you guys can straighten me out.

The ITPS is what, like $40.00? A decent power inverter another $50? Include shipping and that's about $100, right? I can not stress how much of an advantage an Opus (or any similar DC-DC PSU) is over an inverter. If you can I would try to save an extra $100 for an Opus. Just something to think about.

I have this monitor, and it's pretty good for the kid's movies. However, I'm not sure that I'd be using it for a PC monitor (but maybe you guys know something I don't). If you haven't used it yet or don't already own it, I'd ask around here for opinions first.

The monitor was given to me. Kinda what started me on this whole escapade. If push comes to shove i'll just sell it and buy a lilliput.

If you already have the monitor, then you can hook it up to a PC in your house first to see if it passes (as long as you have S-Video or RCA out on your video card).

You'll have to come up with a DC power supply for the test, but I'm sure most of us have a drawer full of DC transformers with the connector ends cut off, right?

    Good luck.

The easiest place to get a well-regulated 12V supply in your house is from an old AT power supply. Most 250W AT psu's will output 10A on the 12V rail. Just gut an old junker pc and you'll have plenty of power for most applications.

Note: this is enough to power an Opus 90, but not an Opus 150.

no TV out on my reliable gateway 500mhz. I tested it briefly on my mothers laptop and honestly it wasnt TOO bad. I could read the titles on media player. I will be running aston as the front end on my carputer, i'm gonna create a skin with large enough icons that the reso shouldnt be too much of a prob. Thanks for the input though. I was kinda worried about the quality of the tv.

I really needa stop throwing stuff away . I could have easily built this thing over two times with old parts i've discarded.
