Ground everything to a single good ground location
Quick question I am trying to re-install my car puter and am testing everything again. i still get a noise over the speakers which i assume is comming from the inverter. When i plug headphones into the line out on the sound card i don't hear any buzzing but the audio is not loud.
When plugged into my HU it's not that loud because the buzzing is super loud. Ground loop isolator from radio shack does nothing.
Should i ground my inverter and my computer to the same ground point? And if i do that will that elimitae the sound?
Thanks

Including the casing of your PC PSU. Doing that killed most of the noise I had in my system. The rest of it was killed by moving to a DC-DC PSUOriginally Posted by antimatter

Only if the PSU has a good ground to the case
