    400w inverter 330w psu

My inverter doesn't turn on with my psu connected to it. Is my psu to big? Or should I just get a different inverter?

Will it start if you connect your pc after you have powered the inverter ?,
if so use it that way, or get a new inverter with soft start.
If not, get a new inverter with soft start

Is it by chance an audiovox 400w inverter? i had one. THEY SUCK!!! i had to exchange it and it still didn't work. i bought a 350watt from walmart. It works great. Of course i'm a dumbass n just blew the fuse . anyways i'ma get that replaced.
I'd suggest not ever using the 400w audiovox cause from my experience, it's horrible.

400w is plenty big enough for a 330w. It is highly unlikely that you are using a full 330w and even if you were the inverter would power it fine.

As i said earlier, the 400 watt audiovox says it's 400 watt. It wouldn't even supply my computer which is 300 watt powersupply, probably using a little over half that. Anyways, i'm just sayin that you should watch out for audiovox inverters. THEY LIE!!! Here's a link to a 350 watt one that works beautifully. I have 8 guage runnign to it, so just in case you buy it and it doesn't work for you, i'd convert it to 8guage wires.

Just out of curiousity, are you going through your cigerette lighter outlet to supply power to the inverter? My inverter said not to run more than 100-150(?) watts through the plug. For that it needs to be ran off the battery clips or direct power.

PS. Information for my temporary install. I'm thinking about putting what I already have into my car. Tired of waiting and running outta money...

That's because the wiring for the cigarette lighter can't handle that power draw. You will probably blow a fuse if you try running higher power though it.
