A tank circuit qn + Relay qn.

For a battery based tank circuit, if you use an SLA battery, what size are people using (how many Amp/hr?)

Also, while ing for this, someone said "relays are bad" or something along those lines. (for use in isolating the tank battery). Anyone care to elaborate?

    Sure.

I'm using an Optima D34/78 battery:
    http://www.optimabatteries.com/publi...eep_cycle.html
with 55 A/hr. This is overkill, yes, but I like the low internal resistance (0.0028 ohms) and supposed long life of the Optima.

    Relays are bad because:

This is SurePower's corporate advertising to an extent, but it is also informative.

    I bought a Hellroaring BIC95300A:
    http://www.hellroaring.com/bic75300.htm

as an isolator. It is nice because it has no 0.7V drop going into the batteries as conventional solutions do, thus wasting less power and creating less heat.

I have installed all this and it works fine, but haven't gotten around to the computer yet, so I can't tell you if this setup is good for the long term.
