It has a pigtail connector so you can attach whatever you want.
To those who actually have one, what is the largest gauge wire the opus will accept?
I've searched and havent really found a definitive answer. I was thinking about running 8 guage from my battery to my trunk where the opus would be house. Roughly 20 feet of power wire.

At the risk of sounding very stupid, what exactly is a pigtail connector?
Is in those one things with the screw on top where you put the wire in the hole and then screw the screw down till its tight?
No its just a plug with the power wires coming out of it. I think they are 12 guage.

They provide you with a 3 color coded wire + connector. all you have to do in attach the wires together with your new one. I think the wire length is about 1 foot. There are 2 gauges wires being use. The red and black are bigger and the yellow is smaller. I bought the same gauge for all three, connect them just by twisting the copper and electrical tape it.
Ugh!
At least solder them together! Bad contacts will kill your computer that way!
or blow some fuses, or worse, start a fire.Originally Posted by JC-S60
It doesn't matter what you run from the front of the car to the back, ideally you will be putting the wire from the battery into a distribution block and taking everything off from that. I am running an Opus 150, plus 2 amps from an 8 gauge wire.
As you're running the wire, it'll be better to use thicker stuff than thinner stuff, especially if you think you might replace your audio equipment
