Question Multiple Devices Off One Wall Wart?

If I've got multiple non-12V devices (5V and 9V), would it be possible/safe to use, say, one 5V wall wart (from inverter), with the two 5V devices spliced in parallel? I assume the amp rating on the adapter would have to equal the cummulative draw from the multiple devices.

I may someday get 12v-5v converters, but right now it's easy to turn everything (comp, powered hub, external hdd) on with one button, and I haven't taken the initiative to do all the relays and crap to do that hard-wired.
