    What inverter?

I shouldn't need more than 300watt. I know I have seen some people say there computers don't restart when starting the car. I would be very interested in hearing which inverters they have.

I'm using the APC 350 watt inverter that i got from compusa..I think retail it's about 80 bucks. It has terminals and survives crank (at least when my relay isn't controlling it)

I have a barely used Vector 750W here:FS: VECTOR MAXX 700 Power Inverter
Had no problem with surviving crank.
I just bought an Opus instead (smaller) to replace it.
    PM me if you're interested

I use the radioshack 140watt special... $29. But it does NOT survive crank. Don't get a cheap one if you're planning on surviving...

I've been using a Xantrex inverter for about six months now with no problems and it survives crank. It's only $30 shipped from Amazon.

I have a 800 watt rms / 1600 peak Coleman that survives crank (I'll never use an OPUS - not enough power for fast pcs). I do have 2 batteries tho... They are directly connected without any isolation (I have found isolation unnecessary).

I generally don't bother running the PC with the car off though. You have to turn the key to make the accessory line hot to make the PC come on using the Power Controller I do (not anything mp3car sells, way better), might as well crank the car. Unless I'm going to be sitting there for a LONG time, but that only happens when I'm at home and then I just grab the extension cord...
