Could anyone help me create a circuit that receives 12 volts, waits for 10 seconds, and then turns on a PC? Seems like it should be pretty easy with a timer, but I have no idea...I got a D in my digital circuits class![]()

I'm working on that same thing right now. Let me bump out a circuit, test it, and then I'll post a schematic here.

I'm specifically looking for a circuit that momentarily pushes the power on button on the computer. The delay isn't as necessary. It just needs to be triggered by ignition to turn the computer on, hopefully a little bit after my amps. I know that there are some things that will do this, like some shutdown controllers.
I had actually just read the thread that you linked, and I couldn't find anything specific on a momentary connection. I thought it would be good to have a thread that talked specifically about power on for us inverter users.

I just posted a solution using mastero's shutdown controller and adding some parts to it to do the job you want.

A simpler circuit that will do both power on and shutdown pulse. If you need a delay of 10 sec, then you will need to use a timer relay like the pac tr-7 or the dei 428t.
