Thread: Laser printer in the car

Laser printers have traditionally had a huge startup current then would settle down to their normal rating. When they first power up the fuser heater and all the motor self tests will cause a large draw, then when starting to print the fuser heat up and imaging motor spin up will cause another. Newer printers may not be as bad though, but old ones would far exceed the rating on the label at startup.

I have a minifridge in my truck, don't ever use a blender at home so I can't see the point of having one of those, a microwave I could use though

Okidata 320 > all. We used to put those in 911 centers, half a page report every time a 911 call came in. Some larger cities would go through boxes of paper every day with those and theywould just keep on printing. You could completely rebuild that printer without tools, everything snapped together and we all carried a spares kit for each in our vehicles so we could swap parts during a service call.

Today we installed a laser printer on a s10 chevy truck we used 2 25 AH batteries and a 1000 watt inverter worked flawless i copied 10 pages no problem i guess u could just do it off the main battery i you want
