    UM 2801 & 2802 DC-DC invertors

Just received my shipment of UM2801 and UM2802
for those who don't know what they are
this are DC-DC invertors. these particular 2 are 12V input (9-18V)
    2801 gives 5A of 5V while 2802 gives 2A of 12V
they both have onboard on/off line in
    each measures 5cm x 5cm x 1cm.

planning to use them to drive peripheries that are too far to run big gauge lines from my opus. (similar to the point of load invertors that OPUS is bring out).

I have 3 of each, though i probably only need one of each (minimal order). will off load here. those interested please pm me.

they are not cheap by the way. works out to be about 55USD each.

Ooh, very nice looking parts. Here's the datasheet: http://www.umec-web.com/products/pdf...0%20SERIES.pdf

Wonder if you can get samples from them.

So you paid $110 for 5V@5A and 12V@2A?

    they could be cheaper.
in fact i think they are something like 38USD per piece on bulk
but in singapore, with small volume, the price escalates (the shipping is a terror)

the 2700 series are cheaper without the on/off input probably round about 20USD per piece.

these are neat packages when u need good stable regulated output with wide voltage variations that you see in car enviroment. I don't see one using them for powering simple cheap peripheries (i am planning to power my Creative Audigy 2 NX USB, which is a terrible power hunger monster, and Hauppague WinTV Nova-T)

having seen my EPIA TC board fried, i can't emphasis enough on good clean power... just my 0.02 worth.

I've not found anywhere on their site to request samples...couldn't even find the 2800 series as a current production part through their search engine, had to grab the datasheet for another part and guess that the other datasheets were in the same place with the same naming convention.
