    .

Built in DC-DC means you plug in DC (direct current, from the car) power to the computer.

AC adapter typically means it turns AC (or power from your house) to DC power
Progress [I will seriously never be done!]

In general you have two options with many variances
DC to DC where you use 12 volts DC PSU to suppy the voltages needed to run your computer: Search Opus as a start point

Inverter where you use 12 volts dc converted to mains AC and then use your normal PSU: Search Inverter

Not so simple you will have to use a quality connection as it will draw a lot of power, ideally back to the battery with fuse The earth must be solid to work properly. The dc dc psu is a special unit for the job search on it look for OPUS in this forum as a start point. I do not know the ins and outs of this yet as I am still in the planning stage but dont fit anything till you know exactly what your doing. If in doubt ask, but search first or you will get some heat if a solution is posted for all to see.
