OPUS can't retain standby power

Searched around here to no avail, so here goes..

I've got a 90W OPUS powering an IBM NetVista desktop (whose original PS was 60W). Everything's working great except for one key feature.. shutdown isn't working as it should.

What's happening is when I turn off the car, the computer stays on for about 10sec (as I have it configured) then powers off. If I turn the car right back on, the computer zips out of standby and resumes my music within 5sec. flat. If I wait about a half hour or so, I power on the car and get a cold boot. Having the computer cold boot after being suspended can (has) cause(d) some real bad problems in the past for me. (To the point where I carry a Ghost CD with my XP system partition with me at all times.)

I checked the power tail voltage from the fusebox at different states, car power on and off, it's wired properly. Also ruling out the wiring possibility is the fact that the computer does trigger on and off properly with the ignition.

I almost want to say that it's the Opus being nice and trying to protect my car battery from deep discharge for some reason. I'm running this in an 04 WRX, all new parts of course, and I have nothing else powered when the car is off. I'm not sure if it is the protection feature or not.. if it is, how can I be sure, and how can I correct the situation that causes it to react like this? If it's not, then how can I find out what it is? I've gone too far with my car to rip everything out and go back to a $100 Best Buy head unit, so I'd really like to get this back up to snuff.

when i bought my opus 150 chris gave me the option of having the opus retaining standby power or not. apparently in the 150 there is a jumper on the inside of the case that switches it from cutting off completely to retaining power for standby. maybe this applies to the 90.

The 90w has a jumper for this, the 150w doesn't. (unless they changed it!)

I only see one jumper on the board, and that's to switch between a 10sec and 20min delay to toggling the power off after iginition cut. I tried changing the jumper and had no luck. It did work as it should have once or twice in the beginning, after being powered off for an hour or so.. but it wouldn't do it anymore.

I know my 150W Opus doesn't have that. The only changeable option jumper is for the power-down delay.

I had have mine set as it should.. 10sec. power off, maintain standby power after ign. off. It still won't maintain power properly if I have the car off for too long.
