I can't recall off the top of my head what video card it is. I'm thinking a NeoMagic card, I'll double check when i get home and post it. I haven't gotten power to the LCD screen yet to test it, but I'll be running X windows (linux) so I won't be using that windows program that everyone is taking about, but again, I'll post more when i come down that path.

as advised above i would buy a laptop car adapter and cut the plug off it. hardwire it into the power supply for your stereo or some other circuit via a fuse and a kill switch, perfect!

as for the ps2 screen you can built a very simple circuit with 7 or 8 components to power the screen off the same 12 volt supply. look on the back of the screen and find out how much current the screen consumes and i will try to design a little circuit to power it for you!
    inefficient??? By what means?

As for the hardwiring, yes, that's exactully what I was planning on doing, I don't remember it being laid out so easily, but doesn't the Cig Lighter end of the adapter have the proper components to flux the voltage? If i cut it off, wouldn't it just send a strict 12V to the laptop? Is that ok...

a picture might explain it better. the power regulation part of the circuit is contained in the black box, cut off the cig lighter plug and connect it via a fuse to a 12v supply, the other end then connects into the laptop.laptop input voltage is controlled by the slider switch on the box, simple

inverters etc are inefficient because you are converting from 12v DC, into 240/110 V AC and then back to 12-22V DC. at each stage onthe conversion you are incurring losses (heat etc). the inverter and ac power regulator will also be bulky in size and you will have to stach them under the seat, unlike the laptop adapter which you can hide behind your dash
    hope this helps

Yeah, I found an adapter, I'm the compontents are in the part of the cig lighter, but that's ok, I'll just crack it open and solder <sp?> wires to jump it from the battery.

Ok, so my next concern is out of this topic. It's in reguards to my NeoMagic NM2200 Card in the laptop and getting the proper modeline in xwindows to display.

Is there a way I can move this thread and retitle it? If not I'll just start another, I just hate having Multithreads (Admin, with lost threads, my GOD)

No, I thought about doing it for you, but then people looking for the original
    topic would be screwed.
