    Why an Opus

Hello, I am new to this hobby, and I have been wondering why an Opus Power Supply is so good for car computers. Also, is 150 watts good enough for a car PC? it just seems like it is to little. Thank you for your input.

150w should be enough for most carpcs. Heck, some people are running carpcs with the 90w version

im sick of this b.s. you dont realize how much i've been -ing. probably about the last 3 + months. if people dont have a helpful answer besides .... then dont even post. all we were asking was if a regular desktop pc would use say a 300 watt psu, how come carputers can get away with only a 90 watt? sorry for being such an annoyance... maybe ill go try

right on. theres a few people that just go around on these boards replying to everyones questions with the search icon like they got nothing better to do. yes searching will answer alot of questions but some people are not as resourceful as others.

Look here this is the story and the reason why ppl are saying SEARCH and showing you this . The reason for this is because there is plenty threads around that same question has been answered and provided on why you should go with opus and what are the advantages and disadvantages.

I also understand that is no the way to go just say use search as i got few of those in my time and also this is a place for help, but my guess is some ppl are getting little sick of tyred answering same questions over and over just because A. You might be lazy to search B. You did search and managed not to fin anything. Or C. well lets break balls again

any ways that is my opinion on why you get those kinda responses..

Well there are many different hardwares you can go with, that uses less power. We dont say search to be rude. Although to many of them may seem annoying to some... but there is enough info on here to piece together an answer for your own questions. Im running mine off an itps controller and a pw70a. The pw70a is 120W. The ITPS only allows 84W. So i only get like 84 or so watts. I have a M10000, 3.5" harddrive, slim cd/dvd rom, 3 usb thingys(that all use different power). They say opus is best because right now that is prob what is the best. Great price and service. Also those that sell them will like to promote their products or whatever. There are more power supplies to come out soon from what i hear. Like in the next few weeks is what im hearing. Check out some power calculators for your setup and see what all you need.

the 90W PSU is working out great for me. Isn't there a power calculator somewhere on the web? Someone linked me to it once, but I lost the link. It basically told you how much power you'd be expecting to use based on what you told it you had.
