Power your Lilliput from the 12v line from your atx power supply. It's stable 12v which means reliable, bright screens.
The egg=easy but dim screen, plus the egg breaks a lot.
Ok, so I used to run my 7" lilliput using the EGG car adapter that came with it.
I was doing some modifications - so I took the screen out for a couple of weeks but left the egg connected to the lighter outlet.
Now I put the screen back into the car after 2 weeks and it doesnt work. At first I was worried because I thought it was the lilliput itself, but it seems to work fine using the power adapter at home.
I used a voltmeter, and the output of the car is around 13.5~14v, but because of the 1.5V drop at the egg, the power reaching my lilliput should be above 12, but when measured it shows 11-11.6v
This should not be a problem because the lilliput manual says it can take input from 11-13v. So why has it stopped working in the car ? any ideas ? anything would help, before I go out and try another regulated 12 source.
