Noise on Xenarc- Best way to regulate power to it NOT using OPus

OK ive bought a 12v regulated DC-DC convertor from your equevilent of radioshack but im getting noise on the screen. WHen i power it from the Opus's 12v i dont. Thats all well and good but i want to use the screen for other things when the PC maynot be on. WHat other regulator coudl i use to clean the power the Xenarc gets? Ive made a lil' circuit using relays so i could use filtered 12v from opus when its on but then the DC-DC crappo 12v when its not on but its hassle and id prefer just one GOOD regulator.

could i maybe use an ITPS standalone as a way of cleaning the power going to the Xenarc?

    cheers

it may be possible this is interference coming from the video line....i have the same problem except with lines but I have yet to have some time to figure it out

Ehr, I may be wrong, but aren't Xenarcs designed to accept 11v-24v, making any form of 12v dcdc regulation useless ?

If there is any bare metal available on it, try grounding it directly to the car body. I had similar problems with my Xbox setup.

cheers ill try it but THB there isn much in the way of metal, just a big PCB. Ill try grounding it elsewhere but at presesnt it osnt giving me noise. Seems to vary. Ill try and find a constant. Its not when the electrics are loaded up or anything. A bit random. Ill let you sll knoe but i still reckon its me DC-DC adapter thats crap.

This is just a guess but it seems to make sense to me at least. Um... you said you used another regulator but that caused noise, but when you used the opus powersupply it went away. May I ask if you used the same ground point for the regulator as for the opus? Here's why, I'm not sure if you've heard of people talking about ground loops in audio but it works pretty much the same way in video. Since your system is using a different ground than your xenarc, it can cause interference. Basically, try either hooking the ground of the regulator to the ground of the opus or if you don't mind the brightness changes, just hook it up straight to the opus ground.
