I helped design it last year. It's basically a cheaper OPUS 90 watt clone. About $85 less.

Are you basing 35watt's on the ~1.5v cpu or what it draws in power from the 5 volt line?

Have you tried using this psu w/ a reg hard drive. I'll have similar set up but i have a 3.5 inch 120 Gig desktop drive in my machine. Currently I have a 1700+ in it and it pulls about 100-103 watts playing mp3's, peaks about 110-111 during boot, Just havent had time to put the new chip in.

I know my setup would be at the max of this psu, Has anywone pushed the psu to the max to see what it is capable of?

Currently my setup is as follows:
    biostar m7nc400
    512 ram
    1700 xp
    120 gig Hitachi HD
    gps mouse
    USB hub
    2x20 LCD

I figure with the new Chip Ill be able to get it down to the 90 watt mark. Any insight as to how this psu may handle under this load?
    amd 1700, biostar m7ncg 400, hitachi deskstar 120 8mb , 512 pc2700, liliput 7"
now to put it all together

Yep. Regulated 12V and integrated shutdown controller/timer. Works great on my M10000 system w/ 40GB 2.5" HD. Probably not even drawing near the 90w it supposedly puts out.

i'm interested in this product... seems to be what i need!

so from what i understand, i do not have to be concerned w/the power drain of a usb device that is plugged in because the 5svb will shut down after a certain amount of time, and even if it doesnt, the power will completely get cut if the battery drains?
