    M1-ATX Power into a Travia C138

    Hallo,

Has anybody put the M1-ATX power supply into a Castronic C 138 box?
No provisions are foreseen for this power supply and it doesn't fit where the original power supply was mounted.
I use Slim DVD/2.5" HD and Riser card with TV PCI card.

Any suggestions or do you mount it outside the case?

    Thanks

Any luck with this? I could have sworn the mini-box site said it was compatible with the c138. I can't find that now.
I'm using it to power a MII 10k.

    thanks

I've tried to make a M1-ATX fit inside a C-138 case. It's not possible without some surgery. You will lose the front ports in the operation.

    Smile Travla C138

Just thought I would let you know that I did get it to fit without losing the ports but with loss of the on/off button and the LEDs. This was fine for me as I wanted to run them to dash so they needed extension anyway.

    This is what I did:
    1. Remove the existing power supply(obviously) and remove the base plate
    2. Remove the front face plate and the button and led board
    3. I then cut a custom mounting board to the shape of the M1-ATX and mounted on the back of the existing mounting board
    4. Attach the M1-ATX to mounting board and reassemble

I ran the wires through the hole from the old connector.

What's quite cool about the setup is that if you have the pc out of the car you can still use the old power brick to power the pc. Quite handy if you don't want to lug a battery about (I'm pretty sure I'm not the first that has thought of this though).

Anyway I'm not sure if this thread is dead or not so I'm not going to post any pics unless there is a bit of interest.

Everything seems to be working perfectly (although I'm sure I've jinxed it now) and my only concern is if the little box is going to be able to handle the heat generated by the M1-ATX. I guess only time will tell.

Can you post those pics please? I'm looking to get the Travla C138 and I have an M2-ATX. Thanks.

    about 4 days to late!

If you had got me 4 days ago I would have had it in bits and been easily able to show you but I've now hot glued the hell out of my little box as it's about to join be in a cairo to cape expedition. You can take the sides off the box so I'll try show you a little of what I've done but it will be far from a step by step.

I have the C138 with OPUS 120 PSU. The M2-ATX is smaller (160x45mm) than the OPUS (180x78mm) so you be able to fit it easier in the C138 than I did.

I removed the USB/Firewire/sound in the front as I did not need it and rewired my powerbutton to reset on mobo.

Removed C138 power supply and made some mounting brackets on the base plate.

    Finally installed the OPUS 120

...and with 80GB2.5", Cinergy600 pci, slim DVD writer it looks like this.

Hope this gives you some ideas what you can fit in the C138.
