    Powerstream 12VDC buck-boost regulator

I've seen some other Powerstream PSUs discussed but not this line:

    http://www.powerstream.com/dc-buck-boost.htm

In particular the PST-DC/1212-8, which is a 12VDC buck-boost regulator.

    Specs:

    Input voltage: 10 V to 15 V
Output voltage: 12 volts, (adjustable between 11 and 13.9 volts with internal pot)
    Continuous output: 8.3 A / 100W
    Peak output: 10 A / 120 Watts
    Efficiency: >75-85% :-(

    And the most important spec:
    Price: $131.60

Here's more info I got direct from the company:

The shut off voltage on the input is something like 6 volts, the 10 volts lower limit
is based on the regulation of 1%. It was designed to go through an engine
starting sequence without dropping out, but I suspect that a low battery and
a frozen engine might give it a run for its money. On the high voltage side
it is something like 25 volts.

There aren't any voltage transients that get through the converter, but
there might be some voltage sag when the input voltage gets below 10 volts.
