Startup controller and Xenarc TSV

i was just reading and saw that the xenarc i'm interested in has this:

Auto power-on upon signal detection

so i could just tap into my dist block and power it and whenever theres a signal it will turn on? i dont need the dssc or carpro?

Yes the Xenarc will turn on when the PC turns on (not sure if it turns on for the A/V plugs)

So you could start the car and the Xenarc would come on when the pc boots (i manually turn my pc on and off cause i don't need it to be automatic)

So the LCD stays off untill the Carputer starts

Yeh the signal detection works pretty well. Anyone know how much power it draws from the battery when the car isnt use? I would assume and I hope it is very small.

i assume then you would need a regulator because it would have to be hard wired to some power source?

Nope. I've got mine wired to the cigarette outlet, no regulator. Leave it on all the time, when the PC shuts off, it shuts off and just the green LED blinks. When the PC starts, the screen comes on.

Longest I've left it on is over a weekend so far and no problems yet.
