Current draw when PC is off/in hibernation.

I'm seeing about 65mA when my PC is off or in hibernate. If unplug the PW200-V from the m/b the current draw drops to about 25mA. Is this fairly normal or are people seeing exactly zero current draw when the PC is off/in hibernation? I'm looking for real measurements not people who assume there's no current draw when their computer is off. Thanks.

Well i don't have any figures for you but does the PC start up through the motherboard?

the psu usually is in it's own sleep mode where it detects the button press on the motherboard it turns the PSU on.

I am guessing that this psu is the same as my morex does the same thing as it needs a small amount of electricty to detect it to be turned on.

if it's 64mA thats nothing at all thats about the same draw as your flashing LCD on the dash for the alarm.

The problem is the PC will be hooked up to a 7.2Ah tank battery. 0.07A draw will probably render the tank circuit insufficient to survive crank in potentially just a weekend...

sounds like you'll have to hard shut-off the pc (break the connection between the power and the psu)

    Hello Guys

I have to tell you that PSU is always draw some current as all the other electronic devices. Even if you shutdown the computer there will be some current running inside!!!

    Cheers

Mine has a zero current draw!

I know this due to the switch in the circut I turn it off with the switch = no draw.

If there are still connection between the PSU and power source, it will draw some juice because the PSU is in it standby state. That is why when you hit the power button, it fires up.
Get a meter and check that STBY wire, it will show up 5V.
The only way to ensure 0 draw is completely cut off power to the PSU and SDC (if you have one.) SDC itself does draw some current for it onboard chips.
