how many flashes?
well i just installed my carputer about 3 days ago and had been working great. But today i turned on my car and it froze on the epia loading screen for the motherboard. So i unlplugged the power from the motherboard. After that when i turn on the ignition again, the usb devices will power up. Then about 2 to 3 seconds when the opus sends the signal to turn on the computer, the power supply just dies and a loud pop sound goes through the speakers. I have to unplug the power for about 20 seconds and the led on the opus will start flashing again and it will go though the same crap again. Can anybody please help me with my problem.
it blinks like normal before you turn on the ignition, then when you turn the ignition, it stays on constant and then it dies with the loud pop noise.
hmm i dont know what it is supposed to do when wired to your ignition/acc switch wire. Mine is wired to a switch. Mine light stays on constantly when the switch is flipped.
Also what do you mean when you unplug the power from the mobo, that the usb devices work?
well i don't have a reset or power button to restart the computer, so i just unplugged the cable coming out the power the supply from the motherboard.
well on mine, after ignition was turned off, in 20 seconds it would shut down.
You probably should have used a startup/shutdown controller in your install.
Something like the DSSC works perfectly with the OPUS, and it prevents situations like this.
Hope this helps.
Well I just figured on my carputer, I accidentally kicked the case and it arbi-booted. I think you probably have some connector flying out partially!
