    Inverter and shutdown controller

I have a great inverter. No noise, but I obviously can't shut it down. I have a power on and power off switch in my console with the pc in the back. Should I just get the car ez pc shutdown controller on the mp3forum or buy something else to piggyback on the inverter. Thanks for your help.

You can hardwire a switch to the inverter to turn it off manually. BUT, you will soon realize that you will have to wait for the computer to shutdown prior to you manually switching off the inverter. So, you can purchase a SDC to shutoff the inverter when it knows that the computer has shut off.

Goto thecarpcstore.com for the Car PC EZ/Pro v. 2.4. It's a great controller and I would highly recommend it.

i have the shutdown controller turn on and off a 30 amp relay, that controls the 12 + line into the inverter, and i just leave the switch on, it works fine

That looks awesome. Only question though, doesn't seem to be true, but does it work with a Mac Mini? It keeps saying PC everywhere but never mentions anything about Mac.

Grimey, if you can use a pushbutton to turn on and off the mac (which you likely can), then the CarPC EZ or Pro power controller will work.

All you have to do is see how the power button on the mac connects internally. If it has a cable that connects to the motherboard and uses a standard 2-pin .1" header, then it will be easy to hook up. If it has everything but the header, then it will require splicing into some wires, but is still pretty easy. If the button is soldered to the motherboard, it is doable, but will require soldering.

The biggest thing is to make sure that it is a plain normally open pushbutton (meaning that when you push the button it makes connection) and that the mac will fully shutdown after you press the power button (or that you can configure it to).
