    M1-ATX and hardoff

JUst recieved the M1-ATX and seem to have a problem with the hardoff state.
speciifically I have the timing jumper shorted on the first one so that i get 5sec soff shutdown and at 45 sec get a hard off. Well, the pc starts us right and then when ignition is off it goes to soft off shutting pc down appropriately, however, after 45 sec's it's not completely cutting power to motherboard, know this because the PSU led flashes and the MB draining about 120mamps. Not sure if i'm overlooking somehting or if it's a bad PSU. BTW, tried the second jumber too and this also doesn't cut power off after 2hrs.

    any help would be apreciated

    thanks
    dk.

well that's enough to drain your battery over the period of a night, maybe a day

    what mobo are you using?

Well I'm using a via M10k motherboard. I was thinking that it may be a PIC problem since the rest of the PSU timing and all is working correctly. I've tried to see if psu will cut off at some later time, but so far it's been 6 hours that I have shut the ignition off and the LED is still flashing. I'll probably stop this soon to prevent complete battery discharge.

Did you set the jumpers BEFORE you powered the board, or after? I'm not trying to be a smart *** -- it's just the only thing I can think of other than a firmware issue and/or the PIC not seeing the jumper settings.

Yes, i set the jumper settings before I gave the PSU any power. The interesting is that the psu works correctly in "traditional PSU mode" and the soft off routines are proper, ie. when i set the jumper on C (30sec/2hr) the soft off occurs 30sec's later but again after 2 hours hard-off does not occur. Thanks for the info sofar

yeah.. mines doing the same thing and i have the revised firmware.. i even had t owait an aditional 2-3 weeks to get the powersupply.. my 5v+ rail doesnt seem to be compeletly shutting off since my SB audigy NX doesnt turn off.... nor does my powermate... i see the bright leds flashing at me all night.. i think theres a bug with the firmware... either way.. i dont like it.. ive tried setting mine to 5 sec/45... and 5/2hour..

EDIT: i set the jumper first at 45.. without it plugged into the car. and while changing jumpers i disconnected it from the powerwires.. pulling off ground, then 12v. and the car is off... then waiting a few seconds just in case anything was left int eh capacitors.

OK, I finally popped in a PIC with the newer firmware and noticed the same behavior you guys are seeing. I took a look at the new code and think I've found typo that makes HARDOFF=never anytime you set it to something other than never. I sent an email to Andrewb to let him know.
