    This worked for my BIOS;

    Unplug both mouse and keyboard.
    Wait for the bios error.
Plug in a working keyboard and acknowlegde the error F4 I think.

Now your missing keyoard/mouse will not generate a bios error.

yes the power supply unit is a 19v plug it is rated for very low power only uses about 1.5 amps (ive checked with meter). I just bought a dc-dc power supply for a laptop (most never laptops are between 18.5-20v), i found the compaq 3000series (vehicle adapter) is 19volts at 3.5 amps. just get that and your done. cut off the cig-plug and striaght wire. also i just hit the power button which i setup for suspend mode (u could setup for hibernation mode).

BOOM!!! thats it, quick, clean and cheap (well if u buy on ebay used its cheap new its like 99 bucks), but on ebay i got mine for 30bucks..

Sorry guys if this question has been asked a thousand times before. I too have the same unit as Chuck with the single pin 19V power supply.

When you say a vehicle power supply do you mean one that has the cigrette lighter fitting on the end or a standard PSU?

Do you have model numbers for these?

Once I can get the system powered up I can then install the windows software.

    Thanks

I have found this car pc laptop power supply advertised on ebay.

Will this work on the older model of the e pc with the 19V single pin power connector?

Is that all I need and i'm away?

    Yeah I think so.

If I were you though I'd get a carnetix cnx-p1900.
You get 10x more features for 3x more $$$...

You should look at this thread, you might not need a dc-dc afterall

    Powering the E PC

Hello to All. I am new to this site but have been an avid reader (of this site) for a while. I recently purchased an E PC for a carpc. I didn't research here first, though. At first I thought there would be a problem powering down and then restarting the epc because there aren't any dc-dc psu's (that I have found) that will work with it. But alas, all was not lost. I invested in an APC UPS and found my solution. The UPS will be powered through an inverter and will shut down (hibernate) my system 1 minute after it switches to battery (ie when I turn my car off.) Upon restarting the car power is returned and my system returns to the last state. This by far has been the simplest solution I have found. I'm sure there are several other ways out there. I hope this helps somebody. If there are any other, better solutions feel free to let me know. Thanx.
