Wiring diagram suggestions

Hi all, this is my first post to mp3car. After a long period of study I've finally pieced together my first computer for my Spyder. I currently run the factory head unit with a Kenwood 4 channel amp.
I've attached a quick sketch of the wiring diagram I'm thinking of, and I'd like some feedback from the seasoned veterans about this. Specifically, do you foresee any noise problems? Power problems? (this computer is a 2GHz Celeron, (logisys LG-SP6H) w/PCI graphics card, slot-load Dvd)
I will be adding CoPilot USB to the system, and a slim-line DVD but I don't see
any huge power draws. I think the 90W will suffice. Expect any amp-thump with the manual switch?

Welcome to the forums Spyder! First of all, if you're going to use a distribuitor for both the + and GND, you really should use same AWG wires. I don't know about your amp and how much power it draws, but the Opus 150W needs a 12 AWG wire, so I'm only guessing the 90W version needs even less. You can place the switch on the remote line of the Opus, and not the main power lead. The only concern I have with your setup is power. I'm not sure that the 90W version can handle a 2G CPU, with graphics, monitor, dvd and usb soundcard, although the last ones don't draw a lot of power. When you say amp thump I'm assuming you mean the buzz when the computer starts, right? Well this only happens if the computer starts before the amp starts, wich in Opus's case that has a delay about 5 second after the remote has been switched on (mine does) is a sure thing. There is a circuit for this, I don't remember exactly but do a search on Jeff Mucha.

Thanx Cris for the input! If I recall for this model computer, it didn't give the power consumption specs, but said something like 'ultra-low.' How low exactly that is, I dunno.......but I suppose the best thing to do, especially looking ahead to possible upgrades, would be to upsize the PS to the 150. Can't hurt to have excess capacity, but too little could...

Yeah, you're right. I know I went for the 150W version jsut to be on the safe side, who knows, maybe someday I'll want to change my computer and find out that I don't have enough juice. Plus, 40$ difference isn't that much...

wait a sec here,.......... the more I study this the more i don't think the OPUS is appropriate for me. This computer Logisys LG6H seems to have its own internal DC power SUPPLY. Shouldn't I only need (well, want rather) a DC power REGULATOR like the carnetix?

Yeah it looks like it has a PSU inside it that requires regulated 12V, BUT it doesn't state the power usage (surprise, surprise), so you will need to check that before ordering anything power wise.
